Assignment 1 – Know Your Epidemic, Part 1

Hi everybody, in this lesson I learned a lot about my country. Here are all the things I learned.

Country Epidemic Information:

Number of people living with HIV: 8 100 [6 500 - 11 000]
Adults aged 15 to 49 prevalence rate: 0.2% [0.1% - 0.2%]
Adults aged 15 and up living with HIV: 7 900 [6 300 - 10 000]
Women aged 15 and up living with HIV: 2 200 [1 700 - 2 900]
Children aged 0 to 14 living with HIV: N/A
Deaths due to AIDS: <500>

Well that is the basic information of my coutry, and talking about laws, there isn't any that prohibits or penalizes homosecuality, even though homosexual marriage is not allowed. Here in Bolivia there is a lot of discrimination, people tend to discriminate homosexuality.

Hi everybody!!!

Hi, let me introduce myself. My name is Alan Jarandilla Nuñez. Im from La Paz - Bolivia. I like reading, listening to music and playing soccer, to mention some of the things I like to do. I'm specially interested in making change in my country because I think that's the first step we have to follow if we want to change the world. I expect to learn from this e-course many things: universal access to HIV treatment, human rights, how to take action, etc. Right now, I've been working in the organization of National United Nations Models in my school, with the main porpose to raise awareness from young people about international issues, such as: climate change, HIV - AIDS, human rights, economy, discrimination, etc. I'm sure this is gonna be a great experience!
